I first drifted over to a Lindy West penned piece after a friend posted it to Facebook. As you and I, dear reader, are probably in circles of similar social affinity, then you probably saw it too. Titled ‘A Complete Guide to Hipster Racism’, the article made me feel bad and it made me think about things in ways that I hadn’t in a while.

It was terribly inconvenient. 

I shared it with friends IRL (and in real time even!) and we grumbled about how right she was and mourned the end of our casual awfulness. Bummer. 

Fortunately, for the whole world, Lindy West doesn’t just want to make us feel bad, she makes us want to feel uncomfortable and comfortable in all kinds of awesome ways. Seriously she’s hilarious and smart and I HIGHLY recommend you bookmark her entire Gawker archive.

Personally, I like her so much that I’m rationing reading her writing. Allowing no more than 2 posts a day, and not every day, so that it lasts. Yeah, I’m a control-freaky weirdo.
